establishes that employers with more than 10 employees must draw up and implement an annual training plan, which includes the identification of information needs, the objectives and the syllabus of the courses to be held.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/diariodarepublica.pt\/dr\/legislacao-consolidada\/lei\/2009-34546475-124448606\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Article 131 of the Labor Code<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; companies are obliged to provide ongoing training for their employees.<br \/>\nCurrently, at least <strong>10% of employees<\/strong> are required to complete <strong>40 hours of training per year<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIf the contract is for 3 months or more, the number of hours required per year is proportional to the length of the contract.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/diariodarepublica.pt\/dr\/legislacao-consolidada\/lei\/2009-34546475-46733675\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Article 130 of the Labor Code<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; vocational training has several objectives, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Providing an initial qualification for a young person entering the job market without one;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensuring the ongoing training of the company&#8217;s employees;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To promote the professional qualification or retraining of a worker at risk of unemployment;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Promoting the professional rehabilitation of a disabled worker, particularly one whose disability is the result of an accident at work.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/diariodarepublica.pt\/dr\/legislacao-consolidada\/lei\/2009-34546475-46750375\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Article 266 of the Labor Code<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; if the training takes place outside working hours and\/or on rest days, the company must <strong>compensate the employee for the hours spent on training<\/strong>.<br \/>\nHowever, <strong>up to 2 hours<\/strong> on a working day, outside of working hours, must be <strong>paid at the normal rate<\/strong> and is not considered overtime. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgdlisboa.pt\/leis\/lei_mostra_articulado.php?nid=1158&amp;tabela=leis\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Law no. 102\/2009<\/a><\/strong> &#8211;
