This month marks one year since the first case and death of the Covid-19 pandemic appeared in Portugal.
We ended March 2020 with 7,443 confirmed cases and 160 deaths. It’s time to take stock and look back so that we can continue to look forward in an increasingly optimistic, but also cautious and safe way.
How did you fight Covid-19 in Portugal?
What goes beyond testing?
Here’s what has been adapted, reinvented and created for the sake of health and safety.
-
Creation of the Covid-19 line, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
An exclusive e-mail address has also been set up to answer users’ questions and help direct the most urgent situations -
We were pioneers in Covid-19 antigen testing.
We implemented faster and more widespread testing, which allowed us to quickly isolate positive cases, always using the most sensitive and specific tests on the market. -
We have created a Drive-Thru for Covid-19 testing in Braga, increasing the convenience and ease of access to tracking “without having to get out of the car”.
-
We have joined Telemedicine and offer video consultations in Psychology, Nutrition, Physiotherapy and General Practice so that we can continue to accompany our clients from a distance.
-
We took the test to the homes of private individuals, taking into account those who were unable to travel due to reduced mobility or other factors.
-
We create customized Corporate Testing Programs for each organization, covering the 3 phases of: Prevention + Testing + Positive Case Management.
-
We have created a Covid-19 Case Management service for organizations: we carry out epidemiological surveys, detect chains of transmission and trace low- and high-risk contacts.
-
We conducted a psychosocial study in 90 organizations to assess the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the workplace.
-
We read Covid-19 Antigen Testing in Mozambique.
-
We carry out training and awareness-raising activities in companies, training more than 250 workers.
We’ve tackled topics such as “Returning to Work: what now?” and “Teleworking and Time Management”. -
We created a sports channel with free weekly workouts to keep workers healthy in quarantine.
-
We published more than 150 publications and ran 20 communication and awareness campaigns, including the “Covid-19 Safe Christmas” campaign.
-
We have drawn up and monitored more than 1,000 contingency plans for our clients, together with occupational health.
-
We audit companies’ compliance with contingency plans and the adoption of safe working practices.
-
We publicize and support the adoption of preventive measures in teleworking.
-
We have provided technical advice on the purchase and use of personal protective equipment, hygiene and disinfection products and other means of mitigating COVID-19;
-
We draw up sanitization and disinfection plans and their respective records;
-
We draw up plans for progressively lifting the measures for returning to work;
-
We monitor and participate in audits/inspections by entities such as the DGS and ARS Norte, in order to detect positive cases.
-
We collaborate with the Local Public Health Entities in the management of positive cases and high-risk exposure, namely in the ACES of Braga, Guimarães, Famalicão, Alto Minho, Porto, among others.
-
We record and report all the tests carried out to the ARS Norte services on a daily basis;
-
We record all positive cases daily on the SINAVE MED platform and then report them to the Braga Public Health Authority.
-
We created the PTMPE, a Massive and Periodic Testing Program in Companies, following standard 019/2020, which recommends massive and periodic testing every 14 days in places with a higher risk of transmission in the workplace.
One year on, we are still attentive to your needs and innovating our services on a daily basis, in order to fulfill the motto we have used since the beginning of the pandemic.
When everything seems strange and different, remember that “We are by your side, as always”.
