This Tuesday, at the press conference updating data on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Directorate-General for Health presented 10 recommendations for the festive season.
These tips are intended to help reduce the risk of contagion by the new coronavirus at Christmas and New Year’s, which traditionally encourage more socializing.
SEPRI stresses the importance of continuing to comply with these and other measures that are being updated and communicated by the Health Authorities, to make this Christmas a safe one.
Planning for the Festive Season should take into account the following preventive measures:
-
Comply with all the rules in force in your municipality regarding mobility and gatherings of people;
-
Anyone who is ill, has symptoms or is in prophylactic isolation must comply with what the health authorities have ordered;
-
Reduce contacts before and during this season;
-
Reduce exposure time at all times and, if possible, use outdoor spaces;
-
Do not change households during the festive season;
-
Limit celebrations to the household you live with, keeping in touch with other members or groups digitally or by phone calls;
-
Maintain physical distance at all times: transportation, preparing meals, socializing, etc.
Avoid traditional greetings; -
Ensure the airing of spaces and the disinfection of surfaces and shared objects;
-
Wash or disinfect your hands frequently, wear a mask properly and maintain respiratory etiquette;
-
Avoid sharing objects.
With regard to the increased demand for testing that is being recorded for December 22, 23 and 24, SEPRI says that it remains available to assist Public Health Entities, companies and individuals in the process of diagnosing the new coronavirus, but it is important to realize that taking the test before Christmas is not a guarantee of safety and that the measures communicated by the Public Health Authorities must be complied with.
