After an accident at work or an occupational illness, which results, for example, in pathologies such as back pain or tendonitis, how do we reinsert the employee into their job without risking a recurrence of the injury?
In this World Physiotherapy Day we spoke to our physiotherapist, Álvaro Carvalho, on the importance of reintegrating workers into their jobs after recovering from an injury.
AWARENESS-RAISING MATERIALS
Physiotherapy can extend from the doctor’s office to the workplace, helping the worker to:
-
reinforcing rehabilitated or damaged structures;
-
promote the strength and resilience of structures and tissues, reducing the likelihood of injury recurrence.
Our focus is on an Occupational Health service that goes beyond Occupational Medicine and includes other specialties, such as physiotherapy and exercise, within the company.
Watch the video we prepared together with our physiotherapist, in which we show some exercises that can be done at the workplace and at home for a worker with low back pain who has returned to his office job.
We stress that each situation must be analyzed and monitored in a personalized way in each work context.
