The Training Voucher is a form of direct financing of training for companies.
This measure allows employers to partially finance the training of their employees with a view to increasing productivity and competitiveness.
The funding can be up to 90% of the total value of the training.

1 – What is the amount financed?
The support to be awarded per worker takes into account the limit of 50 hours to be used over a two-year period.
The value per hour is €4.00, with a maximum amount of €175 per worker, and the maximum funding is 90% of the total value of the training, proven to have been paid.
2 – Who can apply?
All private companies can apply for a training voucher for their employees.
Legal or natural persons under private law, whether profit-making or not, are considered for this purpose.
3 – How can you apply?
The Training Voucher has an open application system.
Applications can be submitted online via the IEFPONLINE website at https://iefponline.iefp.pt/.

4 – What are the eligibility criteria?
Applicant employers are private legal or natural persons, whether profit-making or not, who meet the following requirements cumulatively at the time of application:
a) Are duly constituted and registered;
b) Prove that their tax and social security situation is in order;
c) They meet the legal requirements for carrying out the activity or provide proof of having started the applicable process;
d) Are not in default with regard to financial support granted by IEFP, I.P.;
e) Have organized accounts in accordance with the law;
f) They have not been convicted in criminal proceedings, with a final judgment, for facts involving Structural Fund resources;
g) They do not present situations relating to unpaid wages, with the exception of those provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3 of article 4 of Ministerial Order no. 229/2015, of August 3rd;
h) They have not been convicted in criminal or misdemeanor proceedings for intentional or grossly negligent violation of labor legislation on discrimination in work and employment in the last two years, unless the sanction applied in the context of such proceedings results in a longer term, in which case the latter applies.

6 – What obligations do companies have in terms of training?
According to the Labor Code, companies are obliged to provide their employees with a minimum of 40 hours of continuous training per year for at least 10% of their employees, under the terms of Law no. 93/2019, of 04/09.
However, the number of hours of annual training can be more than 40 hours, according to what is established in collective bargaining agreements or company agreements.
