SEPRI will open on Sundays from January 30 to meet the demand for COVID-19 diagnostic tests.
The clinic on Rua Doutor Loureiro Amorim will have a nursing team testing from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
This is the second time SEPRI has extended its opening hours since the beginning of the pandemic.
The first time was with the extension to 11pm at night, from Monday to Friday.
The test carried out is the rapid antigen test, which allows the diagnostic result to be obtained in just 15 minutes, which is then sent by email.
Prior scheduling of the test is mandatory and can be done by calling 932 467 755.
In addition to the clinic, SEPRI has a mobile screening center operating on a drive-thru basis at the Cepsa fuel station, located on the Braga-Porto bypass, just past the train station tunnel.
This Drive Thru is open from Monday to Saturday, from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and can carry out 150 tests a day.
While the country is in lockdown, it is still possible to leave the house to take the COVID-19 diagnostic test.
At the moment, no official declaration is required.
In a statement, SEPRI said that it “provides proof of the appointment to anyone who requests it at the time of booking”, but that this is not required by the authorities.
It concludes, “It is important that people understand that only through mass testing is it possible to detect transmission chains early and slow down the spread of the virus.”
