SEPRI – Medicina no Trabalho has created the PTMPE.
This is a Massive and Periodic Testing Programme in Companies which includes the organization, management and operation of all the human and material resources needed to test all the employees of a given organization on a regular basis.
The decision as to who will be tested is up to the company, in conjunction with the Occupational Health team, which will assess the need for mass testing and the periodicity of testing, depending on the work context.
The official standard 019/2020 of the Directorate-General for Health recommends regular testing, every 14 days, of all employees in occupational contexts where there is a higher risk of transmission at work.
Some sectors, such as construction or industry, where face-to-face work is mandatory and social distancing is not always possible, are considered to be at higher risk.
However, the customization of Covid-19 testing in companies should always be done by the respective Occupational Health team.
In companies, it’s important not just to test, but the whole process from prevention to the eventual management of positive cases.
